Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our client on a contract basis. Based in Hayward, California, this position offers the opportunity to support legal operations and ensure the smooth handling of essential tasks, including document preparation, scheduling, and e-filing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in legal administrative processes and a proactive approach to managing deadlines and priorities. This position will offer a hybrid schedule, 2 days on-site and 3 days remote. Responsibilities: - Handle discovery tasks, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time. - Perform e-filing duties for legal documents in compliance with court requirements. - Manage the firm's calendar, including scheduling meetings and tracking important deadlines. - Draft, proofread, and format legal documents to maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism. - Utilize case management software to organize and track case-related information. - Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow. - Oversee billing functions and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. Requirements - Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative role. - Proficiency in legal software such as Aderant, CompuLaw, and case management tools. - Strong skills in drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents. - Familiarity with e-filing systems and discovery processes. - Demonstrated ability to manage calendars and prioritize deadlines effectively. - Excellent communication and client relations skills.
