Job Description
SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant position is to provide patient care assistance to the ambulatory care patient, as delegated, and support daily operations of the center.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MD Anderson) and Texas Children's (TC) announced a new collaboration on February 19, 2025. The collaborative operations and patient care are anticipated to launch in early 2026. This advertised position is within the scope of the new collaboration and will not continue at MD Anderson beyond 12/31/25. Opportunity to continue in this role at TC may be offered by TC. Candidates will have the option to discuss the impact of the collaboration with Human Resources professionals. Ideal candidate will have a high school diploma with recent or previous medical assistance experience, preferably in a pediatrics setting.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Assist Staff a. Responsibilities include completion of routine patient care assignments as delegated.
b. Accurately record vital signs and other data, report abnormalities to nursing staff.
Assists Patients- Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, greeting, rooming, and vital signs all members of the heath care team.
Work Environment a. Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
b. Stock and maintain unit and patient care supplies and equipment
Service Orientation- Provide service to our customers, including patients, patient caregivers, referring physicians and each other, in a reliable, responsive, safe, friendly and courteous manner.

REQUIREMENTS EducationRequired: High school diploma/equivalent.
Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.
Experience Required: One year of medical assistant experience. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
