DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

Primary Responsibilities:

Student Onboarding & Monitoring

  • Design and implement a structured plan for new student check-ins and follow-ups to support their transition and ensure they understand school systems, routines, and expectations.
  • Track and analyze student attendance, behavior, and academic data to identify at-risk students and develop support plans.

Intervention & Support Coordination

  • Design and implement a school-wide intervention program that addresses the needs of students requiring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
  • Maintain ongoing tracking systems to monitor student progress toward goals and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the school team to review student data, document interventions, and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Conduct reliable and valid assessments of students and families to inform the design of interventions that remove barriers to learning and promote student success.
  • Lead or support student groups focused on skill-building, peer mediation, and restorative practices.

Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support

  • Observe students and provide feedback to staff on behavior and engagement.
  • Implement positive behavior strategies aligned with the school’s code of conduct.
  • Communicate with families regarding expectations, concerns, and progress.
  • Provide crisis response, referrals, and follow-up support as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school and community agencies or partners to connect students and families with essential services and resources that support their academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Data & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records for attendance, interventions, and communications.
  • Use data to assess student needs and inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and mandated reporting requirements.

Communication & Professionalism

  • Use clear and effective communication in interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to school initiatives.
  • Provide professional development to staff on social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and trauma-informed approaches to support a positive school climate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school and state
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Knowledge of relevant technology
  • IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
